The verified picture
An endpoint graph can identify a shared city between two published route pairs. It cannot prove that both trains operate on the same day or that arrival precedes departure.
Large cities often have several stations. Matching the city name is not enough: an across-town station change can make an apparent connection impractical.
Even where times line up on paper, delays and separate tickets introduce risk. A discovery tool must avoid presenting an unverified connection as a guaranteed itinerary.
A useful verification checklist
- Write down exact station names and train numbers for each leg.
- Check operating days, live timetable and seat availability in the official system.
- Allow realistic transfer time and consider a stopover if the two legs are separately booked.

It does not establish a present-day timetable for every route, availability for a particular passenger, the intermediate stops on a given service or the success of a same-day connection.
