How many Vande Bharat services are running?

The verified picture
The Railway Ministry reported 81 pairs of chair car Vande Bharat services and one pair of Vande Bharat Sleeper as of 25 March 2026. A pair covers services in opposite directions; it is not the same unit as an individual train number.
The 82-pair snapshot is a dated count, not a live inventory. New launches, withdrawals and timetable revisions can change what is actually available on a particular date.
When comparing online lists, check the publication date, whether sleeper is included, whether the writer counts pairs or directional services, and whether a ceremonial announcement became a bookable service.

- Match both endpoint stations and train numbers before assuming two articles describe the same service.
- Treat a map of routes as discovery, then verify days and seats separately.

It does not establish a present-day timetable for every route, availability for a particular passenger, the intermediate stops on a given service or the success of a same-day connection. Where a press release discusses expansion, treat that as policy context until a service is independently confirmed as operating.
